Pot Luck Holiday Party It's now December and time for the WMARC annual pot luck Holiday Party and Yankee Swap. This is one meeting you do not want to miss. Lots of fun, comradely, good food, laughs. Bring a dish to share or not. (To avoid duplication, please email Greg at sirgreg@roadrunner.com and tell him what you will be bringing.) Bring a wrapped item for the Yankee Swap.

I found this bit of trivia about the Yankee Swap:

"Game Origins

The game is said to have come from the civil war holiday tradition of trading prisoners of war with the enemy. Although the origin of the game is disputed, the term "Yankee Swap" in written form itself dates back to the early ninetenth century."

Conway Public Library, downstairs in the Ham Room. Early birds at 5:30 pm; meeting starts at 6:00 pm. As always bring a friend and/or a kid.
